Child Safety Standards
Last updated: March 19, 2026
Mystories is committed to providing a safe environment for all users. This page outlines our standards and practices for preventing child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) on our platform.
Age Requirement
Mystories is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to create an account or participate in Journeys. If we become aware that a user is under 18, their account will be terminated and their data deleted promptly.
Content Restrictions
To minimize risk of harmful content on our platform:
- Text-only messaging: Chat within Journeys is limited to text and basic emoji. Users cannot send images, GIFs, videos, or other media attachments.
- No private messaging: All communication occurs within Journey group chats visible to all participants of that Journey.
- Journeys: Journeys are visible on the map to nearby users, promoting transparency and accountability. Future private Journeys will require mutual opt-in from all participants.
Reporting and Moderation
We provide mechanisms for users to report concerns:
- User reporting: Any user can report another user directly from their profile for inappropriate behavior, including concerns related to child safety.
- Message reporting: Individual chat messages can be flagged for review by our moderation team.
- Blocking: Users can block other users to prevent further interaction.
All reports are reviewed promptly. Accounts found to violate our standards are suspended or permanently banned.
Our Commitments
- We comply with all applicable child safety laws and regulations, including reporting obligations to relevant national and regional authorities.
- We cooperate fully with law enforcement investigations related to child safety.
- Any content or activity involving the sexual exploitation or abuse of minors is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account termination and reporting to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and applicable authorities.
- We regularly review and update our safety practices as our platform evolves.
