Mystories ("we", "our", or "the app") is operated by Ochssoft. This policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding your data.

Information We Collect

Account information: When you sign in, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from your authentication provider (Google, Apple, or email verification via Clerk). We do not store your password.

Location data: With your permission, the app accesses your device's location to show nearby Journeys and enable you to create Journeys at specific locations. Location data is used only while the app is active and is not tracked in the background. Your location is never shared with other users.

Journey and interaction data: Content you create (Journeys, ratings, messages) is stored to provide the service. Ratings are two-sided and blind — neither participant sees the other's rating until both have been submitted.

Device information: We collect your push notification token (via Firebase Cloud Messaging on Android and Apple Push Notification service on iOS) to deliver notifications you have opted into.

How We Use Your Information

• Display Journeys near your location on the map
• Send push notifications for Journey activity (joins, cancellations, reminders)
• Calculate and display participant ratings to build community trust
• Improve the app through aggregated, anonymized usage patterns

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may process your data under their own privacy policies:

• Clerk — Authentication and user management
• Google Maps — Map display and geocoding
• Firebase Cloud Messaging — Push notifications (Android)
• Apple Push Notification service — Push notifications (iOS)

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on servers we operate and is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Journey data is retained to maintain rating history and community integrity.

Your Choices

• Location: You can revoke location permission at any time through your device settings. The app will still function but cannot show nearby Journeys or allow Journey creation.
• Notifications: You can disable push notifications in the app settings or through your device settings.
• Account deletion: You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at the address below. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

Age Requirement

Mystories is intended for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected data from a user under 18, we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by updating the date at the top of this page.
